Academics: Middle & Junior High School

Students in grades 5th-8th are in an exciting and important part of life.  At Lindisfarne Hall, we want to help them solidify their skills in preparation for high school, and give them godly direction as they navigate the new waters of young-adulthood.Our program offers  a full course-load of traditional classes, including English grammar, literature, writing, mathematics, history, science, and more, designed to help help our students evaluate knowledge through the lens of scripture and inspire in them a love for learning.

Our Program

Story & Literature-based: This means that much of the subject matter is taught using books written by literary craftsmen, rather than using uninspiring textbooks filled with “Google factoids”. In order to cultivate students of excellence, we have chosen this method because we believe that ideas compose the proper nourishment of the living mind, and ideas are best introduced through the written word and conversation. We study words in their natural habitat: in sentences!

  •  Embracing Beauty:  We look for, find, and appreciate the beauty all around us. We enjoy the beauty (and fun!) of words through poetry, the beauty of outdoors through nature walks and picnics, the beauty of sound through music and singing, and the beauty of mankind’s creations in the fine arts.
  • Spreading a Feast: Children have a natural desire to learn, and it is our goal to set before them a delicious and nourishing feast for the mind. Schedule a tour of Lindisfarne Hall and peruse some of our varied and appetizing selections for well-fed minds!
